Natasha Cocking is a Sussex-based silver jeweller who is passionate about sea glass. She was lucky enough to grow up on the rugged north coast of Cornwall and spent her childhood looking for glass pebbles.
She remembers loving the smooth cold feeling of holding them in her hand. After being made redundant in 2022, she had more time to walk the South coast beaches, collecting glass treasures. It was a way to relax and connect with nature.
After being made redundant in 2022, she had more time to walk on the beaches of the South Coast of England. Whist some have very little seaglass, the pieces she found became my treasures. Seeking out seaglass became her favourite way to relax and connect with nature. Along the way she’s learnt a lot and visited some wonderful beaches around the UK and beyond – its rare for her to have a pocket or a bag without at least one stray piece of glass in it these days!
As her collection has grown, she found herself drawn to the idea of
making silver jewellery, such as rings and pendants with Seaglass.
Repurposing and sustainability are very important to her in an increasingly disposable culture, so she only uses recycled sterling silver and recycled glass. Natasha says: “Whilst seaglass has always been treasure to me, now I hope now others will see its beauty in my jewellery. “
Natasha is a self-taught silversmith and established Severina Seglass in 2023. In 2025 she also started to run workshops which she absolutely loves to do as its so satisfying seeing people joy at what they can achieve.
