Beauty in Broken

Brighton based mosaic artist Claire has been creating mosaics for over 10 years. Inspired by a love of vintage plates, teacups, tiles and trinkets Claire incorporates these into her work.

This style of mosaics is called “Pique Assiette”. Utilising broken crockery by repurposing it to make unique and quirky gifts and artwork for the home.
A love of the outdoors in conjunction with an obsession for colour
has inspired Claire’s work, with birds in particular featuring heavily.
Hunting down broken china, recycling them and giving them a new
lease of life makes this craft even more exciting and addictive.

Claire is passionate about introducing others to the delights of
mosaic making.

She will be running a mosaic making workshop on Sun 24th May at 3pm at the Flamingo House for £35pp.
